What Young People Call Music, EP02 - NOWNESS
The Falling Sky - What Young People Call Music
Starting out at Belém do Pará, Amazônia—the 'portal' to the Amazon—Nogari's sulphuric film, with nods to The Beach and Joseph Conrad's delirious The Heart of Darkness, blurs the boundaries between visual poetry and documentary reportage, referencing the transformative nature of music.
"It's a living diary of something that happened, a tale being told through time" explains the image-maker known for capturing hedonism and the high-life. "We don't know exactly when. A group of friends battling the impossibilities, knowing that there might be no place for them. 'Times are hard for dreamers' they say, and this couldn't be more accurate for Brazil nowadays."
